The next piece I wanted to talk about it one of my absolute favorites. It is the ceramic teapot I made in my Advanced Ceramics class senior year of high school. This was one of the last projects we had to make for the class so it was one of the biggest and most involved. It took a long time to complete everything but was well worth. The instructions for this project was to make a functioning teapot along with accessories whether that be a platter, spoon, cups, etc. I decided to base mine off of this old brick house I saw on vacation one time and then further developed the concept from there. It may not look like it from the picture but every piece you see is functional and has a purpose. The house is a fully functioning teapot where the spout is the chimney, the tree is the handle, and part of the roof comes off so you can access the inside. The rocks when flipped over serve as cups for the tea and the top of the mushroom comes off to store sugar, milk, more tea bags, etc. The final piece is the platter. I decided to include this last minute because, even though I already had all the requirements for the project, I felt like including a base helped tell a story instead of just having separate stand alone pieces. It also helped with the idea that this was an aged scene house with a bunch of stories.
