Ripples

The next photo I want to discuss is one I have entitled Ripples (for fairly obvious reasons). I took this photo during my Advanced Photography course senior year of high school. We had a project where we were given large list of prompts and had to go out and take our own pictures of some of those ideas. Once of the prompts was to capture ripples in a small pond or puddle. I went out on a rainy day and found the largest puddle in my driveway. Then I grabbed a syringe from my house and started dropping water in the center of this puddle. It took many many tries and about 150 photos later, I came up with this. Although this took a while to get and it is not completely in focus, I was very pleased with the end result and think I captured the ripples pretty well. After going in to edit the photo I noticed the green moss near the outside of the frame and just thought that helped bring some more color into the photo and help convey that dreary mood.
