A second sun

This photo was again one of the first ones I took when getting my new camera. In my backyard, there was a single flower sticking away from the rest. So I decided to take a quick picture of it. I didn’t think much of the picture until I put it into my editing software and started playing around with it. After adjusting the contrast a bit, I saw the colors, especially in the flower, really start to pop. I tried to make the colors as drastic as I could without it being too much. I think the warmth of the yellow in the flower really protrudes from the rest of the background and really creates depth with the contrast against the blue and green. The brightness of the flower reminded me of the sun which is what helped inspire the name for this picture. This picture makes it seem like it was a really gloomy and dreary day outside because of the saturation levels but it was actually a really nice day out. I also like how I was able to get the flower to stay in focus while the background was completely blurred out. I had just gotten the camera that day and did not really know how to manipulate any of the settings yet so I was impressed that I got it to come out so well.
