This photo was one of my most recent pictures I have taken. I took this while visiting my sister at her school, Salve Regina, in Rhode Island. She lives right near the ocean and where there is a very scenic drive overlooking the water. On our way back from this drive we passed really large houses that looked like castles. I turned my head back and saw this beautiful little gateway that lead to a larger house. Once we got back to the hotel, the sun was starting to set and we had nothing to do so I asked my mom if she could drive me back to the spot we were so I could find this place again and take a picture of it. After about 15 minutes of just looking for the spot, we found it. There was a car in the driveway so I made it quick and snapped a few pictures of the archway before we had to leave. This was actually one of the reference photos I used in making the teapot I talked about a few posts ago. The shape and orange/red roof really was the part of the piece that transferred over. I love this photo just because it tells a story with how aged it the arch looks and it could be picked right out of a fairy tale. The steep driveway and entrance leads you in and makes you want to know more about what this location is which is why I think it is so powerful.
